Documentary Film Center (DFC) is the first Russian cinema hall for documentary films and a brand new cultural and educational venue. This cinema hall is a perfect place for screenings, thematic lectures, workshops and film festivals.
DFC organizes Russian premiere of top documentary films. We usually work directly with international sales and distribution companies (Cinephil, Go2Films, Autlook, Rise and Shine, Dogwoof). Also DFC started recently to work as independent buying and distribution company.
The regular program includes present-day documentaries, educational and science fiction films. Among the first in Russia DFC brings to Moscow such documentary premieres as The act of killing, The black fish, Concerning violence, 1989, Night will fall, Cathedrals of culture, Happiness, Rich hill, The optimists, My stuff, show-case of festival DOK LEIPZIG and IDFA (Kids and Docs program). Educational program of DFC includes public talks and lectures of famous documentary film makers, producers and other film professionals: Ulrich Seidl, Ally Derks, Thomas Balmes, Godfrey Reggio, Luciano Barisone and others. With the support of embassies and cultural centers the DFC presents National documentary film weeks, screens best films made by foreign directors and shows tendencies of national cinema. September 2014 DFC together with the Museum of Moscow founded festival «CENTER». This festival unites films which explore city as giant social system and new borders of the modern megacities.
