On January 3 Daria Khlestkina, Russian documentary filmmaker, died after a long illness. 

Khlestkina was born in Moscow in 1973, and in 2009 she graduated from the Marina Razbezhkina Film School. Two years ago Daria completed her first feature documentary “The Last Limousine”. 

The full-length documentary is about workers of the Moscow ZIL automobile plant. For many years they kept working while the plant was falling apart. And now, they receive an order for three new government limousines for the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union.



The film received the Best Feature award at ArtDocFest-2013, and in the same year it was nominated for the Best Documentary at the National Russian award "Laurel branch" (Lavrovaya vetv).
